The Granary has been a prominent figure on 8th Street in Saskatoon since 1979, and despite a few minor relocations and changes, the tall yellow grain elevator remains one of the most recognizable buildings in the city. The restaurant building itself houses loads of prairie memorabilia, from antique license plates to the brass handles that one graced the doors of a local church. There is always something new to catch your eye!

The Young family owns the entire 8th street block where the Granary resides, and Joe Young, founder of The Granary, owns and operates a KFC franchise on the same property. In 1997, the Young family gambled on their instincts, and proceeded to tear down the original Granary, armed with plans for a new building and location. Current owner Remi Cloutier, along with original Granary designer Peter Cotton, reconstructed the restaurant, and relocated it to the rear of the 8th street property. In 2008 the restaurant will under-go another round of renovations, keeping up to date with current trends without losing our classic style.

Our reputation as one of the finest eating establishments in Saskatchewan is backed by the patrons that continue to dine with us generation after generation. What gives a restaurant longevity? Consistency. Quality. The people of Saskatoon have come to expect both from The Granary. If you have yet to experience our unique atmosphere, stop in and become part of the Food, Fun, & Folklore!
